The lubrication system of a vertical machining center is a crucial component for ensuring long-term stable operation and machining accuracy. Its function is to provide continuous lubrication to moving parts such as guideways, ball screws, and spindle bearings, reducing friction and wear, lowering temperature rise, and preventing corrosion.
Vertical machining centers employ a centralized automatic lubrication system. This system consists of an oil pump, oil lines, a distributor, and lubrication points. A controller automatically supplies oil to each lubrication point at set times or according to the machine's operating status. Linear guideways, ball screws, and spindle bearings are key lubrication targets; the amount and pressure of lubricating oil need to be precisely controlled according to the machine specifications and workload to ensure smooth movement and positioning accuracy.
High-end models are also equipped with multi-point branch lubrication and online monitoring functions, which can detect oil quantity and pressure in real time to prevent mechanical damage caused by insufficient or excessive lubrication. Regular maintenance of the lubrication system, including changing lubricating oil, cleaning oil lines, and checking the pump station's operating status, is essential for ensuring the long-term high-precision and high-efficiency operation of the vertical machining center.
